oh, the chinese new year was cool...

... but the dragon freaked me out.
(i almost found myself face to face with a dragon when it danced its way into the office yesterday morning. it was just too large and hyper for me, i thought it was menacing rather than inviting! come to think of it, i never liked mascots and clowns either. it's power rangers all the way, baby!)

Kung Hei Fat Choi!

Fontana Casino is big on celebrating Chinese New Year since its owner and more than half of its patrons are Chinese. the fun part is bosses are chirpier and players are more excitable and generous *snicker* this time of the year.

chirpier bosses + generous players = happy employees :p

But let's not forget that Chinese New Year is more than just ampao-giving and everything gold and red by showing respect to this much celebrated and very sacred Chinese tradition.

It's not my luck
With tips on luck and predictions of one's future on the year of the ox flying from here to yonder, how and where do i find myself this year? firstly, i don't believe in luck or rely on it. if i wanna get something, i go get it. i won't wait for supernatural forces or fate to start the ball rolling. secondly, good things do happen when people make it happen; when we see past the negativity and be selfless enough to make sacrifices. lastly, i don't believe in luck because of my faith in Him and His will. the stars, the planets, the moon and other cosmic creations out there do not hold the power to my future, though i do like stargazing once in a while and i do find the moon romantic at times. these heavenly creations to me, serve as constant reminders of the Creator's supreme presence and His unending love to those who seek and live in accordance to His will.

and so i really don't need
an extremely hyper dragon
to have a good year... at all :p
